Early Projects

Here are some of my early projects and a few descriptions on them:

The cat pillow was one of the first character pillows I made. I got the idea from a girl on deviant art who had made a whole series of these pillows. She didn't offer them for sale at the time so I decided to make my own. The pillow is made entirely of fleece. I saw some pillows made with felt, but felt is so scratchy that it was not an option for me.

I made these pillows for friends for Christmas gifts. I also found the ideas on Etsy. However I feel like I improved a little on the design. Especially the Harry Potter one. I also made matching ornaments out of felt to go with them. These were a big hit. I forgot to take finished pictures of these so this is a picture my friend took of all the gifts she got. The Pokemon belt is not actually attached to the pillow. haha

I made this outfit set one summer for my boyfriend and I. I made everything I am wearing except the hat. I put together the goggles too. For his outfit I only put the brown part and buttons on the front of a shirt we got at Ross. I was pressed for time making his outfit so I wasn't able to get very elaborate.

This dress was made for my friend who had nothing to wear to the Renaissance Festival. I put it together in just a few hours. Using this tutorial. I had never worked with knits before and I have learned so much since. Like how much it shrinks when washed! I forgot to prewash and didn't think it would shrink so much so I made the hem lower to account for it. When I washed it it was an ankle length dress instead of floor. Six inches lost! -.-' Funnily enough it only shrank at the bottom. Everything else was still the regular length. It still looked great on her and her feet were more free. She can wear some flat sandals and it will look amazing. I don't have a full picture of the dress but the top is where most of the details are anyway.

Blankets - I made these blankets for my nephews. I loved how each of them turned out and can't wait to make more for other family members. I came up with the idea when I saw some cute dinosaur fabric at Hobby Lobby and it was next to a quilt backing remnant. I bought both and sewed them together to make a cute blanket for them to lay on. I also used the dinosaur fabric to make the letters of his name to sew on the quilted side. The one pictured is the second one I made for his older brother.
